Search Tips

If you use the default setting of All, Georgia.LocalOpenings.com will locate jobs that contain all of your keywords (boolean AND). Changing this option to Any returns jobs containing any of your keywords (boolean OR). You may also use boolean connectors for a more powerful search.
Keywords are case insensitive.

• ALL - Choosing this will return only the job ads which contain all of the keywords you entered in the "Keywords To Search For" windows. For example, the following search
  software engineer
  would retrieve all records with "software" and "engineer" in them. It does not mean that these words appear in any relation to each other.
• ANY - Choosing this will return any job ad which contains any one of the keywords you entered in the "Keywords To Search For" windows. For example, the query
  sales marketing
  would retrieve all ads with "sales" or "marketing" somewhere in the posting.
• BOOLEAN - Boolean logic is a powerful tool that can be used to refine your searches to obtain very specific search results. You must include the relevant connecting words (AND, OR) with your keywords as explained below:
  • Boolean AND
    This is the default connector, and is used when you want all the words it connects to appear in a posting. For example, the following search
    software AND engineer
    would retrieve all records with "software" and "engineer" in them. It does not mean that these words appear in any relation to each other.
  • Boolean OR
    This connector is used when you want any of the words it connects to appear in a posting. For example, the query
    sales OR marketing
    would retrieve all records with "sales" or "marketing" somewhere in the posting. Since these two words are often used interchangeably, OR is a logical connector.
  • Boolean NOT
    NOT is used to exclude words from a search. For example,
    software NOT hardware
    would retrieve only those ads with the word "software" and without the word "hardware".
  • Complicated Search:
    You can group several words using parenthesis with Boolean AND/OR. For example the query
    (software OR hardware) AND engineer
    would retrieve all ads with the words "software" or "hardware" and "engineer" somewhere in the ad posting.
